The Equium U400 is a range of sturdy and sleek ultra portable laptops from the Toshiba family. It has a strong body made of magnesium alloy. The dimensions of this compact laptop are 12.4 x 9 x 1.1 in with a weight of 4.2 lbs.

The screen size is 13.3 in diagonally and has WXGA TFT active matrix and resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor with 1.83 GHz speed powers this ultra portable laptop and the main memory has 2 GB size, DDR2 SDRAM. With a hard disk capacity of 160GB, the Toshiba U400 ultra-portable laptop has an integrated Intel X3100 graphics processor with 358MB video RAM. For backup storage, there is an internal DVD (Double Layer) +/- RW drive.

For external connectivity, the laptop has a no. of options including Wi-Fi, Wireless LAN (802.11a/b/g), 56 Kbps modem, Bluetooth, and Fast Ethernet LAN. In addition, there are 3 USB 2.0 ports and one 1 x 5-in-1 Bridge Media slot.
